U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that over 13,000 Iranian military targets were struck.

CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper’s video message regarding the latest situation in the attacks against Iran was shared on CENTCOM’s social media account on the U.S.-based X platform.

Cooper stated that over 50,000 U.S. citizens participated in the attacks against Iran, adding that the primary strategic military objectives were achieved during these attacks.

Cooper reported that more than 13,000 attacks were carried out on military targets in Iran, after which U.S. forces suspended the attacks in accordance with a temporary ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran.

Stating that U.S. forces maintain their presence in the region, Cooper used the expression, “We are ready to act when needed.”

Cooper also reported that 13 U.S. soldiers lost their lives during the attacks.

– Temporary Ceasefire Between the U.S. and Iran, Including Israel

Following the attacks launched by the U.S. and Israel against Iran on February 28, and Iran’s retaliatory actions and attacks on some regional countries, the process escalated into war. U.S. President Donald Trump announced on April 8, around 01:30 AM, that he had accepted a ceasefire.

Trump stated that they accepted a two-week ceasefire on the condition that the Strait of Hormuz be opened, and that they received a 10-point proposal from Iran, which he considered a viable basis for negotiation.

The Iranian Supreme National Security Council, stating that “Iran has achieved its objectives in the war,” also announced that final negotiations are aimed to be concluded in Islamabad within a maximum of 15 days.

Turkey, Pakistan, and Egypt made intense efforts to ensure the continuation and successful conclusion of message exchanges between the U.S. and Iran.

The Israeli administration, which announced its support for the temporary ceasefire, however, continues its attacks on Lebanon, arguing that the issue of Lebanon was not included in the agreement.
