Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that they appreciate Turkey’s stance condemning the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, and especially the Turkish nation’s solidarity with Iran.
According to a written statement from the Iranian Presidency, Pezeshkian and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation.
During the call, the leaders exchanged views on solutions to end the war.
Thanking some friendly and neighboring countries for their efforts to stop military aggression against Iran, Pezeshkian stated, “We appreciate Turkey’s stance condemning the brutal attacks on Iran, and especially the impressive solidarity of the Turkish nation with Iran.”
Emphasizing that the temporary ceasefire agreement reached between Iran and the US, which also includes Israel, should cover all fronts in the region, including Lebanon, Pezeshkian noted:
“Israel’s actions aim to ignite a fire in the region, and Islamic countries must stand in solidarity against the Zionist regime’s warmongering and its jeopardizing of regional stability and peace.
It is imperative for the international community and Islamic countries to pressure the US and the Zionist regime to stop aggression and crimes against regional countries, especially Lebanon.”
Pezeshkian stated that Iran accepted the ceasefire to preserve regional stability and prevent the spread of conflicts, emphasizing that “the continuation of the ceasefire will depend on the opposing side’s genuine adherence to its obligations.”
