The White House denied claims that ‘the US could use nuclear weapons in Iran,’ which emerged following statements by US President Donald Trump and and Vice President JD Vance.
The White House’s ‘Rapid Response 47’ account on the US-based X social media platform issued a statement regarding the nuclear weapons claims after Trump’s and Vance’s remarks.
In its statement, the White House reacted to a news platform that headlined a statement made by Vice President Vance in Hungary, implying ‘the US could use nuclear weapons in Iran,’ when he meant ‘Trump holds all options regarding Iran.’
Quoting the news report and rejecting the possibility of nuclear weapons, the White House stated, “Nothing the Vice President said here implies that, you clowns.”
US President Trump had threatened on his social media account that “a civilization would end” if an agreement was not reached by the end of the deadline he gave to Iran.
Vice President JD Vance, who visited Hungary, also referred to Trump’s words, stating that “the President holds all options and could use them.”
Some media outlets also claimed in their reports that these options could include “the use of nuclear weapons.”
