The daily crude oil production of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) decreased by 7,878,000 barrels in March compared to the previous month, falling to 20,788,000 barrels, due to the impact of the US/Israel-Iran War.
According to OPEC’s monthly oil market report, the largest decline in production last month occurred in Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Daily production in Iraq decreased by 2,563,000 barrels to 1,625,000 barrels, and in Saudi Arabia, it decreased by 2,314,000 barrels to 7,799,000 barrels.
Daily oil production in the United Arab Emirates decreased by 1,527,000 barrels to 1,892,000 barrels. Production in Kuwait fell by 1,369,000 barrels to 1,213,000 barrels, while in Iran, production decreased by 182,000 barrels, reaching 3,060,000 barrels.
During this period, production increased in Venezuela and Nigeria. Daily production in Venezuela rose by 79,000 barrels to 988,000 barrels, while in Nigeria, daily production increased by 22,000 barrels, reaching 1,463,000 barrels.
Thus, OPEC’s daily crude oil production decreased by 7,878,000 barrels in March compared to the previous month, falling to 20,788,000 barrels.
The daily crude oil production of the OPEC+ group, which consists of OPEC and some non-OPEC producing countries, also decreased by 7,702,000 barrels during the same period, registering at 35,055,000 barrels.
– OPEC maintained its demand forecast
OPEC did not change its global oil demand growth forecast for this year and next year.
Accordingly, demand is expected to increase by 1,380,000 barrels per day this year compared to last year, reaching 106,530,000 barrels.
Demand is estimated to increase by 1,260,000 barrels per day in non-OECD countries this year, reaching 60,460,000 barrels, and by 130,000 barrels per day in OECD countries, reaching 46,070,000 barrels.
Next year, global demand is projected to increase by 1,340,000 barrels per day compared to this year, reaching approximately 107,870,000 barrels.
