TIKA Completes Restoration of Altunkopru Cemetery

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has completed the restoration of the Altunkopru Martyrs’ Cemetery in coordination with Iraqi Turkmen Front Chairman Mohammad Samaan Agha.

The project was carried out to honor the memory of the martyrs and preserve historical sites that hold significant importance in Iraqi Turkmen history.

Through this initiative, the memorial grounds have been fully renovated and secured to safeguard the region’s cultural and historical legacy.

About Altunkopru Martyrs’ Cemetery

Located in the town of Altunkopru in Kirkuk Governorate, the cemetery honors over a hundred Iraqi Turkmen civilians who were killed during the Altun Kupri Massacre on March 28, 1991. It serves as a key memorial site dedicated to preserving the history and memory of those lost.
