Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Kirkuk Governor Mehmet Seman Ağa.
According to a statement made by Governor Ağa on his social media account, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Mehmet Seman Ağa, Chairman of the Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITC) and Governor of Kirkuk, met to discuss the situation and political representation of Turkmens.
President Erdoğan congratulated Ağa on his appointment as Kirkuk Governor and wished him success in his new role. Erdoğan also reiterated his support for the deserved representation and political gains of Turkmens in the Iraqi government formed in Baghdad.
Governor Ağa thanked Erdoğan for his support for the Turkmen cause and emphasized the great importance of Turkey’s support for all segments of Iraq, from north to south.
Stating that Turkey will continue to stand by the Iraqi people, Erdoğan affirmed his support for Iraq’s unity, security, and stability, noting that Turkmens are one of Iraq’s essential components and that support for the protection of their rights will continue.
